<p>Setting assembly for a piece of jewellery. This setting assembly consists of a central carrier (2) in which at least one opening (3) is provided for the gemstone concerned. Clamping means surrounding the central carrier are provided. These clamping means (4,5) confine the gemstone. According to the invention, the clamping means consist of at least one separate clamping plate (4,5) which is to be fixed on the carrier.
