A light-transmissive, electrically conductive oxide film comprises Sn and a Gp. II element, the oxide film being doped with a Gp. III element and with H and/or F. Also claimed is a detector (12) comprising a substrate (4), an energy-sensitive film (2) which generates an electrical signal under e.m. radiation, and electrical contacts (6,8), at least one of which is a light-transmissive layer as above, for connecting the device to an external circuit. The Gp. III element is Al and/or B. The energy- sensitive material responds to visible light and radiation energy.
