PASSIVE VEHICLE TRANSPORT SYSTEM

A passive vehicle transport system wherein vehicles move on wheels (4) along the driving paths (7) of a track (1) comprising members for guiding the vehicles therealong, each vehicle comprising at least one driving roller (5) for propelling the vehicle by engaging rotary tubes (13), the rotational axis of said roller being adjustable relative to the tube axes, and at least one vehicle guiding device (16) engaging the guiding members of the track. The system is characterised in that the guiding members of the track (1) consist of two surfaces (9) extending along the track and advantageously being symmetrical relative to the vertical centre plane thereof, and in that the guiding device (6) for each vehicle comprises wheels (19) mounted on a bracket (16) secured to the vehicle so that they engage the guide surfaces (9). Said system is useful for public transport.
