COLORED PHOTOSENSITIVE RESIN COMPOSITION

A coloured photosensitive resin composition of pigment dispersion type, which comprises (a) a polymer having an alcoholic or phenolic hydroxyl group, (b) a compound that forms nitrene on irradiation with actinic rays, (c) a pigment, and (d) a solvent. Preferably the composition further contains (e) a thermal cross-linking agent and/or (f) a compound having a polymerizable double bond. A color filter can be produced from this composition without the necessity for using an inert gas atmosphere or an oxygen-barrier film. Further it is unnecessary to conduct heating in an intermediate step between exposure and development. Thus the use of this composition permits the color filter production process to be extremely simplified.
