Vehicle floor edge structure obtained by plastics injection

The structure of the vehicle floor edge is obtained by plastics injection and has a passage (2) for an inflatable sack which is sealed by a retractable board (3) during sack inflation. The retractable board has elastic fasteners (4,5) which join it to the rest of the floor structure and are releasable during sack inflation. The board has a retaining strap (6) having one end (7) connected to the board and other end (8) being connected to the rest of the floor structure. The end of the retaining strap is fixed on the rest of the floor structure by rivets (14). The other end passes through a hole in an anchoring leg (15), a part of which is buried in the board during its manufacture. The board has projecting parts (9,10) for centralising it in the structure passage.
