In a coated printing paper having a pigment-containing layer on at least one of a substrate, a surface layer containing thermoplastic polymer latex particles having an average particle diameter of less than 100 nm and a secondary transition temperature of higher than 80.degree.C is provided on the pigment containing layer, and the surface layer is not necessarily calendered. The coated printing paper has a practically sufficient printing adaptability, a high gloss, and a constant quality. |
