Stabilising soot recovered from smoke given off from food producing plant

The soot recovered as dust particles from the smoke given off from a food processing plant is mixed with Portland cement in a ratio of 100 parts soot (in dry condition) and 60-110 parts cement. Sufficient water is added to ensure setting together with 2-8% alkaline silicate (given as SiO2) with respect to the cement. After mixing the cement is allowed to set in moulds before being removed.
