The resonant high frequency generator has a half-bridge power convertor (12) with two controlled electronic switches (24,26), and an oscillator circuit on the direct current side. The inductance in the oscillator is the induction coil (36) of the induction heater. A control circuit (22) with a pulse-width modulator (32) sends modulated control signals to the electronic switches so the circuit operates as a chopper. The modulator is controlled in response to various parameters to regulate output.The induction coil (36) is connected between the mid-point of the two switches and the mid-point (40) of a symmetrical capacitive divider connected in parallel with the switches. Each capacitor has a capacitance of half the resonant capacitance.
