The invention relates to a device for switching on and off a submersible motor pump by means of a pressure sensor (5) which measures the level of the liquid in the chamber surrounding the submersible motor pump by means of the liquid pressure in the chamber. The pressure sensor (5) is mounted in or on the outside of the motor housing (2) or pump housing (1) and has a pressure-sensitive ohmic resistance.
