The container comprises an outer packaging layer (4), e.g. of cardboard, which contains applicator (6') and a reservoir (8') for the product and which acts as a holder for both of them even after the container has been opened. The container wall has a zone of reduced resistance (36) which enables it to be separated into two sections (40,42), one holding the reservoir and the other the applicator.
