<p>The self diagnostic system involves a flame detector (30), which has a variable amplitude and frequency driver (32) which generates a analogue electrical determinant signal. A transducer (34) e.g. a LED, converts the determinant signal to a modulated optical signal. A sensor (36) receives an optical signal which is a combination of the flame signal and the modulated determinant signal. The sensor signal is amplified (38) and separated (40) for digital processing by separate flame signal (42) and modulated signal (44) processors, which output analogue signals (46e,46f) to an amplitude and frequency interpreter (46). The interpreter has four outputs (46a-d) representing respectively an analogue signal of the flame level, a logic GO or NO-GO flame determination signal, and inputs to a variable amplitude and frequency driver (32) which controls the modulation transducer output.</p> |
