The chair has a seat (2) whose back edge (2a) rests on a horizontal beam (4) to which is fixed by screws (13). Tongues (7) extending from the back edge engage in corresponding slots (8) in the bottom of the back (3) of the chair. The front legs (6) are curved and extend under the seat. The top of the back legs (5) engage in slots (14,15) in the ends of the beam. They are joined to the front legs and the back by two sets of screws (9) crossing through these and each end of the beam.
