The anti-overflow device has a weir in a chamber at the side of the dish washer bowl, with its crest at the maximum water level. When the weir overflows, the overflow is delivered to a manometric detector. The weir is in a vessel (1) fitted in a hole in the side of the bowl (4). A cap (13) covers the inlet to the vessel inside the bowl. The weir is formed by a wall (12) inside the vessel. The vessel has three internal chambers communicating in succession via a passage with a weir controlling height. The overflow is directed to an outlet (9) facing downward and connected to the manometric detector. The first chamber may be filled with a porous material that allows a controlled flow of water.
