A non-corrosive, glass and tableware-protective alkaline agent, comprising at least one silicon polymer of a silicated organomineral copolymer obtained by the condensation polymerisation of an alkali metal silicate and an organic silicon compound selected from alkaline siliconates, condensates thereof, and alkoxysilanes. A detergent composition containing said alkaline agent is described, in particular for use in dish washers. |
