The electronic control system for a lamp includes a perforated wheel with vanes on which the user can blow in order to turn the wheel. Adjacent to the perforated disc is an optical transducer (IC2) which generates control pulses when the disc turns. An integrated circuit (IC3) operates as a monostable whilst a further integrated circuit (IC4) provides the complement to the output of the monostable. A special integrated circuit (IC1) generates control pulses for a triac (Tc1) as a function of the information provided by the above integrated circuits.
