The invention relates to a combination of a flexible high- pressure plate and a cylindrical support for the flexible high-pressure plate, the thickness of the support being small compared to the thickness of the flexible high- pressure plate, the support being formed from a wound sheet of unreinforced plastics material, and the support being connected, on its axially extending sides, by at least one strip of flexible material. According to a first preferred embodiment, the support is made from material which is in elastic or only slightly elastic. An example of such a material is mylar. Obviously, it is also possible to use other plastics materials which satisfy the appropriate requirements. According to a second preferred embodiment, the strip of flexible material is formed by the flexible high-pressure plate.
