PURPOSE: To prevent a chattering phenomenon associated with a cooling mode from occurring when the outside air temperature is low by a method wherein when a cooling or heating mode is sent out, whether an outdoor unit is set at cooling or heating is determined based on the outside air temperature and an indoor unit which is sending out a mode differnt from the selected mode of the outdoor unit is put into a waiting condition. CONSTITUTION: When an outdoor unit OP receives a communication from a indoor unit IP, the unit OP sets a thermorelay to OFF, and when the unit OP is in a waiting condition, a controller of the unit OP detects the outside temperature in response to an operation demand of the unit IP. When the temperature is low, for example 9 deg.C, and when a heating mode is selected, the heating mode is fixed. On the other hand, when a cooling mode is sent out from the unit IP, the thermorelay of the unit IP is set to OFF to put the unit IP into a waiting condition to effect only ventilation. A corresponding solenoid valve of the unit IP in a distribution box SB is closed. As a result, when the temperature is low, the trouble that a heating mode is effected by preferentially presetting a remote controller can be avoided. |
