The innovation relates to the wood-working industry and specifically to the method of longitudinal sawing of logs. In order to increase productivity the sawing operation is divided in two parts - forward and back. First of all in the operation, forward sides of the log are sawn in parallel. After that the polled log is turned by 90 degrees on its axis, placed on side supports of the same device and sent back through another set of circular saws that has opposite rotating and moving direction. The innovation relates also to sawing devices of the described method consisting of a stand, a circular saw unit, a supply conveyor and a fixation mechanism and is different to the fixation mechanism having at least two fixation supports, but the circular saw unit is formed as movable in the longitudinal direction of the processed logs and has at least two sets of circular saws (fig.1).<IMAGE>
