PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device capable of suppressing leakage light at a side opposite to a light source and a stripe-shaped dark color pattern extending in a light guide direction on a light emission surface.SOLUTION: A surface light source device comprises: a light guide plate having a light emission surface, a back surface and a side surface, the back surface including a plurality of inclined faces arranged in a first direction on the back surface, and applying a part positioned at one side in the first direction of the side surface as an incident surface; a light source disposed in opposition to the incident surface; and a housing including a front surface portion surrounding the light emission surface, a back surface portion opposite to the front surface portion, and a side surface portion, and accommodating the light guide plate and the light source. A fixing member is disposed in a region positioned between the back surface of the light guide plate and the back surface portion of the housing, and including at least a part of a region at the other side along the first direction with respect to the light emission surface and overlapped with the front surface portion of the housing along a normal direction of the light guide plate. The fixing member connects the light guide plate and the back surface portion of the housing to fix the light guide plate to the housing. The fixing member has a reflecting property for mirror-reflecting the light incident from the light guide plate or a transmitting property for transmitting the light incident from the light guide plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
