摘要	The device has a down strut for the suspension for the jacket tube of a collapsible steering column. A group of pedals (7) is located next to the strut, and extends with part of its length in front of the strut (5b). A deflector panel (15) giving side support, is located on the pedal group and/or the strut. During a crash, the panel moves the pedal group past the strut. The panel projects from the side of the brake pedal (10), and covers the strut on the side. It is formed as suspension abutment for a return spring (12) for the brake pedal.
