The device has a baseplate, with two counter-bearings (3) and a reaction bearing (2). The counter-bearings can be adjusted, and with the aid of a wooden wedge, the corresponding arrangement of the three bearing points clamps around a framework, while applying pressure to a board or panel which is being installed. The counter-bearings may have rotary mountings, or a rubber coating on their resting surfaces. Hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders, rotating or fixed threaded sleeves with a threaded spindle, or an eccentric tensioning lever may also be mounted in the position of the reaction bearing, in order to adjust the pressure which is applied.
