An apparatus capable of coating a panel surface of a cathode ray tube having a predetermined curvature by using a coating device of a flat plate is disclosed. In the coating apparatus, a printing roller(7) has a body(7a) and both ends(7b). Diameters of the both ends(7b) are longer than that of the body(7a). A printing plate(6) is situated from the body(7a) of the printing roller(7) by a predetermined distance and contacts with a transcription roller(3) to receive a solution. A fluid(10) is introduced between the printing roller(7) and printing plate(6).
