FIELD: electric heating appliances; high-resistivity cord-type nonmetal electric heaters. SUBSTANCE: cable is, essentially, device made of robust lengthy fiber backing with resistance unit spirally wound on it at a pitch of at least 5 mm. Resistance unit is made of seamless high-resistivity conductor that has stepwise arranged sections of 100-200 times lower resistance which short out high-resistivity sections. Backing with wound resistance unit is placed in encapsulating insulating coat. High-resistivity conductor is made of glass fibers with pyrocarbon coating. EFFECT: improved reliability of heating elements due to more reliable adhesion of metal electroplated on pyrocarbon and due to the fact that in case of axial strength, load is taken by robust backing while spirally wound resistance unit remains practically unloaded. |
