<p>A supply circuit (4,6) traverses a U-section casing (2,3), inverted on installation, in each fitting. A bridge-piece (10), of similar section, retained by the side-wall edge grooves of one casing (3), carries a male connector (16) for its through circuits (4). The bridge slides into the corresponding grooves of the adjacent casing (2) as the fittings are pushed into abutment; simultaneously the plug (16) runs fully into a female socket (14) terminating the next wiring section (6). A snap catch (20,22) secures the join. Tongues (24) aid plug alignment. A base-plate, supporting the ballast, starter, lamp tubes and reflector, is secured over the casing by bayonet fixings. A plug-and-socket connection for the lamp, on a vertical axis, is automatically completed during this operation.</p> |
