PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect such a discharge failure as deteriorating ink discharge property without causing an increase in size of a recording device and an increase in cost.SOLUTION: An inkjet recording device includes two kinds of detection means of: a recording head preliminarily storing information for identifying a delivery port where a discharge failure occurs, based on test pattern analysis at recording head manufacturing; and discharge failure detection using an optical detection mechanism provided in the recording device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
