The VRC is applied to a regeneration process, whereby the condensed water generated and a concentrated solution sent out from a regenerator are used as heat sources. When a dilute solution is preheated, the preheat quantity of the dilute solution increases to cause a performance coefficient of a heat pump to be improved. During heating, the concentration of the solution is increased by utilizing the absorbed liquid cooling heat for the room heating operation, and storing a part of regenerated cooling liquid medium, whereby the heat pump can be used for both the room cooling and room heating purposes.
