DATA RECOVERY METHOD FOR STORAGE SYSTEM, METHOD FOR OPERATING STORAGE SYSTEM AND DATA STORAGE MEDIUM FOR PROVIDING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently execute the predictive fault analysis(PFA) of a storage subsystem and to speedily recover data from a failed reading operation. SOLUTION: A monitor processor 104 is connected to a parity mount RAID storage system having plural head disk assemblies(HDA) 108-113. The respective HDA are provided with HDA controllers 115-118 and one storage medium from 127 to 130 at least. When the HDA meets an error during the trial of reading, the HDA transmits a 'recovery alarm' signal to the monitor processor 104 and the monitor processor 104 and the HDA parallelly start remote and local recovery processes. When the 1st process is completed, data are provided for a host 102 and the 2nd process is stopped. The PFA operation of the HDA can be limited within the idle time of the HDA as well.
