The current supply system has at least two generators (e.g. four G1, G2, G3, G4) driven by diesel engines, connected with a synchronising line (SL), e.g. a busbar system, for synchronising the phase and the frequency of the generator outputs. The output is supplied across power circuit breakers (S1, S2 or S3, S4) on the busbars (SS1, SS2) of the electrical plants (EW1, EW2). The electrical plants with the busbars are spatially separated from each other. In addition across common quick acting and remote controlled power circuit breakers (S5, S6) are controlled by a control/regulation and automation system or SPS (stored programmable control). The primary windings (P1, P2) of the transformer (T), in the event of short circuits occurring in the transformer inputs (P1 or P2) are separately switched off. The transformer (T) with matched output values, has two parallel connected same sense wound primary winding system (S), and supplies the current supply network of important users, across a circuit breaker (S7).
