摘要 A negative resistance element which can be manufactured at a low cost by using a simple manufacturing method as compared with the conventional one and has a relatively large PV ratio and a method for manufacturing the resistance element. The resistance element is constituted by providing a molecule dispersion layer (3) in which single molecules of an organic high polymer having an electrical insulating property and an organic low molecular weight compound having a Hall or electron transporting property are alternately repeated is interposed between two electrodes (2 and 4). The layer (3) is constructed in a multi-barrier type molecule dispersion structure in which the junction between the organic high polymer and organic low molecular weight compound is alternately repeated by dispersing the organic low molecular weight compoud in the organic high polymer. It is preferable to use a triphenyldiamine derivative or aluminum-8-quinolinol complex as the low molecular weight compound and polyvinyl carbazole or polystyrene as the organic high polymer.
