Chicory roots and other agricultural products are shredded by a rotating cutter (2). The cutting blades are mounted on a horizontal rotating cylinder (4), supported on a frame (3). Material for shredding (R) is fed towards the blades through a chamber (13) which gradually decreases in size, forcing the material against the blades. The chamber is enclosed by a flap (10), also mounted on the frame.
