Disclosed is a method and apparatus for machining a large structure to a smooth surfaced sphere up to 1mm in diameter simply and conveniently from powder, regardless of the diameter size. Ceramic materials such as alumina, zirconia, garnet magnetic substance, and nickel are formed under pressure into circular or flat plates shape. Thereafter they are cut into cubical shapes and rotated in the cylindrical rotator(100) with frictional materials(101) therein. As they rotate more, sharp corners wear down and they become spherical ceramic structures.
