A hair cutter has a housing (40) with an opening at the bottom. There is a body (10) in the housing with a second opening that aligns with the first opening. The hair-cutting mechanism is between the bottom of the body and above the second opening. A suction element(30) in the housing has an outlet at the bottom, and sucks out of the housing through the first two openings, discharging through this outlet. The mechanism has a baseplate on the bottom of the body, a blade attached rigidly to it with a number of cutting edges above the second opening and a threaded hole in it. On it slides a similar blade, held on by a pressure plate and a bolt.
