Disclosed are a device and method of installing a display monitor for automobiles. The invention improves the safety during driving by withdrawing it only when necessary. The device comprises a crash pad(1), an opening(2), a shoulder(3), a support plate(4), a monitor(5), a hinge(6), a rack gear(7), a support frame(8), an extension(9), two-way motor(10), a gear(11), and a car audio operator(13). The monitor is within the crash pad(1) when the monitor(1) is not in use; with the switch at the car audio operator(13) on, the motor rotates normal and the gear(11) in the motor(10) shaft turns; the support plate(4) moves upward as the rack gear(7) moves upward so that the monitor(5) is set up to be ready. With the switch off again, the motor rotates reverse letting the rack gear(7) move downward and close.
