FIELD: heating of mold hot tops. SUBSTANCE: mixture contains iron-aluminum thermit, electrode powder, ferrosilicon, ferromanganese and fluorspar ground to size of 3 mm to provide for obtaining in mold hot top of liquid gray iron similar in composition to pig iron poured into mold, with the following percentage of ingredients, wt.-%: iron-aluminum thermit, 90.2-93.0; powder of used-up electrodes of electric arc furnaces, 3.0-4.0; ferrosilicon, 2.0-3.0; ferromanganese, 0.5-0.6; fluorspar, 2.5-2.0.
