Dimmer circuit for compact electronic fluorescent lamps

A dimmer circuit for compact electronic fluorescent lamps is designed as a phase-control circuit with a switching building block (1) that serves to supply the mains to the lamp and an externally controlled device (5) to fix the relative phase angle of the switching-off state of the building block for every half wave of mains frequency. The device is designed so that the lower threshold of the range of adjustment of the switch-off phase angle is greater than zero and so that the upper threshold is less than 180 degrees. The lower threshold is actually kept between 10 and 20 degrees, preferably about 15 degrees whereas the upper one is between 90 and 120 degrees, preferably 110 degrees.
