<p>A method of providing corrosion protection of aluminium alloys and its alloys is characterized by the steps of degreasing (11) aluminium parts using a general purpose cleaner and a predetermined elevated temperature for a predetermined time period; rinsing (12) the degreased aluminium parts using hot tap water at a predetermined elevated temperature; cleaning (13) the rinsed and degreased aluminium parts using alkaline cleaner at a predetermined elevated temperature for a predetermined time period; rinsing (14) the cleaned aluminium parts using cold tap water; deoxidizing (15) the aluminium parts; rinsing (16) the deoxidized aluminium parts with cold tap water; immersing (17) the deoxidized and rinsed aluminium parts in boiling deionized water for a predetermined time period; sealing (18) the boiled aluminium parts using a predetermined lithium nitrate, aluminium nitrate and aluminium silicate solution at a predetermined elevated temperature for a predetermined time period; sealing (20) the aluminium parts a second time using a solution potassium silicate and a corrosion inhibitor at a predetermined elevated temperature for a predetermined time period; and drying (21) the sealed aluminium parts.</p> |
