NOVEL PYRIDONECARBOXYLIC ACID DERIVATIVES OR SALTS THEREOF AND DRUGS CONTAINING THE SAME AS THE ACTIVE INGREDIENT

Pyridonecarboxylic acid derivatives of general formula (1) or salts thereof, and drugs containing the same as the active ingredient. The derivatives and salts exhibit excellent antibacterial activity and peroral absorbability, little cause side effects, and are easy of synthesis. In said formula, R<1> is -OH, a hydroxyl-protecting group or (alkyl)amino; R<2> is H, -NO2, (protected) amino, (protected) hydroxyl, lower alkyl or lower alkoxyl; R<3> is halogeno, H, -NO2, lower alkyl, lower alkoxyl or amino; R<4> is azido, (substituted) hydrazino, (substituted) amino, lower alkoxyl or hydroxyl; R<5>, R<6> and R<7> are each H, -NO2, halogeno or lower alkyl; R<8> is -NO2, (substituted) amino, -OH or lower alkoxyl; A is N or C-R<12> (wherein R<12> is H, halogeno, (substituted) lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, lower alkoxyl, lower alkylthio or nitro); and B is N or C-R<13> (wherein R<13> is H or halogeno).
