发明名称 METHOD FOR INSPECTING LITHIUM HYDRIDE SHADOW RADIATION SHIELDING FOR GEOMETRY
摘要 FIELD: nondestructive inspections of lithium hydride shadow radiation shielding of space nuclear power plants. SUBSTANCE: radiation shielding under inspection is irradiated by neutrons on side surface end. Neutron sensor is applied to this surface and neutron albedo is recorded and used to determine amount of lithium hydride exfoliated from shell. Simultaneously, radial coordinates of neutron sensor are measured by means of displacement transducer. Geometry of shielding under inspection is determined as difference between measured radial coordinates of neutron sensor and amount of lithium hydride exfoliated from shell. EFFECT: improved accuracy of inspection results due to provision for measuring geometry of monolithic lithium hydride located in radiation shielding of any shape without disturbing its tightness. 1 dwge
