SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ester derivatives of hexahydronaphthalene of the general formula (I): <EMI ID=0.250 HE=39 WI=54 TI=CHI> where R means group of the formula (II) <EMI ID=0.251 HE=27 WI=27 TI=CHI> or (III) <EMI ID=0.252 HE=27 WI=24 TI=CHI> where R - hydrogen atom or group of the formula -OR<SP>3</SP>;; R - hydrogen atom or silyl protective group for hydroxyl; R - unsubstituted alkyl or alkyl substituted with aryl, free or substituted aralkyl; W - alkylene, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts showing capability to inhibit cholesterol synthesis and therefore they can be used for treatment and prophylaxis of hypercholesterolemia and different cardiac diseases.
