Sectional belt moving e.g. ultrasonic transducers along a test piece

This novel equipment moves testing equipment along a component under examination. The driven belt system, is carried in a guide (1) on the component. In the new design, the belt is sectional. Its sections (4) include bearers (6) and connecting bridges (7). Tabs on the free ends of the bearers, form connections with the next section. The connecting bolt (11) carries a ball bearing (16) with external periphery rolling in the rail (2) forming part of the guide. There is a longitudinal groove (17) in each bearer, accommodating a rack (18). Adjacent bearers have a spring rod connecting them, parallel to the direction of motion. The guide section has at least one fixed and one moving roller, resting against a side surface of the bearer groove.
