PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector and the manufacturing method for the connector by which a locking hole can be formed without the use of a slide metal mold. SOLUTION: This connector 25 has a housing 26 provided with a terminal containing slit 30, in which a terminal metal fitting 28 is inserted from one side insertion opening 29 and is contained, an upper wall 31 which closes the upper portion of the terminal containing slit 30, and locking hole 33 which is provided in the upper wall 31 communicating the inside and the outside of the terminal containing slit 30 and in which a flexible locking arm 32 protruding from the terminal metal fitting 28 is inserted and locked. The connection has an outside slit portion 37 provided on the outer face of the upper wall 31 form the fitting face 36 side of the counter-connector of the housing 26 toward the insertion opening 29 side, and an inside slit portion 38 which is provided in the inner face of the upper wall 31 from the insertion opening 29 side toward the fitting face 36 side end portion and in which the fitting face 36 side end portion communicates with the insertion opening 29 side end portion of the outside slit portion 37 and the thick thickness direction of the upper wall 31, so as to form a locking hole 33.
