The fittings (1,2) attached to the seat and back, in the region of their internal gearwheel (1.1,2.1), are retained in a cage (3) connected to a rotational drive (11). The walls of the cage lie on both sides of the fittings with a small axial movement clearance. The gearwheels have different reference circle diameters and are mounted in the cage eccentrically to one another. The eccentric mounting is effected by a pinion (4) rotatably mounted on the cage outside the center axes (5,6) of the gearwheels, where the clear width between the apexes of the pinion teeth and gearwheel teeth not in engagement is taken up by a profiled component (9) torsionally fixed to the cage.
