A data processing system (20) includes a display (26), which displays a plurality of cursors, and a two-ended stylus (14) for specifying positions on an electronic tablet (16) which correspond to positions on the display (26). The stylus (14) may also be moved relative to the tablet (16) to specify a plurality of operations. The processor will display a selected one of the cursors dictated by the position and the operation. The display (26) also displays graphical representations of various accessories and miniaturized document images (73) of information. The user may manipulate the miniature document images (73) and graphical representations using the stylus. The document images are automatically stacked when the images are overlapped by a user defined amount. Operations displayed include icons for mailing (52), stapling (88), copying (91) and printing (72) of documents.
