摘要 |
The rescue mechanism at the deck of an ocean going vessel or other ocean installation, to lift a person out of the water, has a gallows section (2) which can be lowered under the level of the fixed gallows (1) at the deck until the angled jib (6) is sufficiently offset from the hull to position the block at its end with the rescue line. The jib position ensures that the rescued person, in the loops (8) of the rescue line, is not dashed against the hull through the motion of the ship in the water. It also ensures that the rescued person is not injured by the extended jib, through the buffer and shock absorber system for the jib at the lowered gallows unit.
