Method for vacuum freeze drying e.g. ceramic workpieces immediately after molding

Plastic (especially ceramic) workpieces are dried, immediately after molding, by deep freezing at reduced pressure for a time dependent on material and workpiece properties and then subjected to residual drying. An Independent claim is also included for apparatus for carrying out the above process, the apparatus comprising a vacuum chamber (3), which immediately follows a molding apparatus (1), and a residual drying unit (8). Preferred Features: The reduced pressure is 0.5-0.1 mbar. Residual drying is carried out in a hot air or air dryer, a vacuum dryer or a freeze dryer.
