Clear aqueous fabric softener composition

Clear aqueous fabric softener compositions containing quaternary ester-ammonium compounds (esterquats), a perfumed microemulsion and water or other additives. A fabric softener composition comprising: (a) 2-60 wt.% of esterquats (DE 19539846) obtained by reacting a trialkanol amine with a mixture of fatty acids and dicarboxylic acids, optionally alkoxylating the product, and quaternising; (b) 0.5-20 wt.% of a perfumed microemulsion having droplet size of 10-100 nm and comprising 10-50 wt.% perfume, 1-10 wt.% oil, 1-30 wt.% alkyl polyglycoside emulsifier and 0-10 wt.% nonionic or cationic co-emulsifier, where the weight ratio (perfume:oil) is 2-10:1; and (c) water or an aqueous solution of other active ingredients or additives.
