The rehabilitation of a building requires in most cases reinforcing its resistance to horizontal forces or bracing. In order to carry out the necessary reinforcement without adding projecting elements or providing too large recesses in the thick masonry works (1) the invention consists in simply producing holes of any thickness filled with reinforced concrete and forming bars (2) linking intersecting ties called vertical frames (3) slightly sunk in each side of the masonry works. Said vertical frames combined with the masonry works (4) framed by the bars transmit the stresses caused by horizontal forces (6) concentrated at floor level (7) and so on down to the foundations of the building, without requiring that the resulting reinforced masonry works are vertically in line with one another.
