The unit has a pointer that rotates about a shaft. The pointer has a tip to indicate analogue data. An image screen indicates variable data. The pointer swivel axis cuts the indicating surface of the screen approximately at right angles. A shutter (8) is movable in the front of the screen to cover it at least partly. At least a part of the shutter, is arranged in a region that is swept over or under by the pointer tip (5) or pointer body (4).
