Method for preparing an injectable and in situ gelable mixture in a confined space

Static mixers are used in the production of an injectable mixture that gels in situ in a confined space. Production of the mixture comprises mixing a diluent with a gelling catalyst in a static mixer and mixing the resulting mixture with a gel precursor in a static mixer before injecting product into the confined space. An Independent claim is included for an installation for carrying out the above process, comprising a tank containing the gel precursor connected to a first static mixer and tanks containing the diluent and catalyst connected to a second static mixer, the outlet of the second static mixer being connected to the inlet of the first static mixer.
