<p>The present invention provides a method of digitally decoding a composite video signal (CVBS), the composite video signal comprising luminance and chrominance components, including the steps of: sampling the video signal to obtain a plurality (N) of sample values of the video signal; performing a Walsh-Hadamard transformation (WHT) on said plurality of sample values to obtain WHT coefficients; comparing at least a first one of said WHT coefficients (WHT1,0) with a threshold value to determine whether a correction of said WHT coefficients is advisable; adjusting at least a second one of said WHT coefficients (WHT0,1, WHT0,2), when in step (c) it is determined that a correction of said WHT coefficients is advisable; and deriving the luminance and chrominance components of the composite video signal from the WHT coefficients. <IMAGE></p> |
